Allen Iverson May Retire from the NBA Due to Daughter’s Illness

Allen Iverson’s NBA career could be coming to a close. The Philadelphia 76ers announced that Iverson may miss the remainder of the NBA season in order to care for his ailing daughter who is suffering from an undisclosed illness.
Iverson missed five games before the NBA All-Star break and decided to leave again to be with his family who lives in Atlanta. A few of Iverson’s teammates noticed a change in his demeanor on the court which was likely caused by the concern he had for his daughter, Messiah. The 4 year-old child has undergone several medical tests and will likely be examined by doctors at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia.
An NBA All-Star and future Hall of Famer, Iverson recently returned to the 76ers after having an unmemorable season with the Detriot Pistons. After averaging an astounding 26.7 points per game throughout his career, Iverson has only averaged 13.9 points per game this season.-amir shawalt
