Lil Wayne is just hours away from serving a yearlong prison sentence at New York City’s Rikers Island. The rapper is due to surrender to authorities Tuesday, March 2.
Weezy will be trading in his Bugatti and mansion keys for a nice bus ride to his new home, a 10-by-15 cell, with a view of a sink, bed and wall.
With all the free time on his hands, Wayne is bound to have at least one hit single upon release. In regards to free time, he will be allowed to watch TV, listen to his transistor radio, spend time in the day room, visit the prison’s library or attend church services.
Lil Wayne’s good behavior could net him a shorter bid; in eight short months he could be back in the studio. –christian johnson
