Faith Evans Joins List of Celebs With Tax Issues

Faith Evans

We’ve already heard about celebrities such as Morris Chestnut, Eddie Griffin and Wesley Snipes having tax issues, now R&B singer, Faith Evans, is next in line to square off with Uncle Sam.

The Detroit News is reporting that former wife of the slain Notorious B.I.G. and mother of three owes something to the tune of $360,000 in unpaid state and federal taxes.

According to public records, here’s how her case breaks down:

* The IRS filed a $36,360 lien against Evans on March 4 with  New York City Register’s office.
* The IRS filed a $119,821 lien against Evans on Feb. 16 with the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds.
* The state of New Jersey filed a $204,000 lien against Evans on Oct. 30, 2008, with the New Jersey State Superior Court.

Faith’s voice is one of the most formidable in the business, but her recording career has hit snag after snag since her debut self-titled successful album. Her last stint was with Capitol Records, but it seemed that neither party’s heart was in it and they amicably parted ways.

She’s now attempting to take matters into her own hands by using the formula that’s proving successful for others trying to breathe life into their careers. The singer will soon be launching her own reality show called “It’s All About Faith,” which will chronicle her musical comeback and family life. Hopefully, this move will put her in the position to handle her business.

Here’s a list of additional celebs that have been in the news for tax problems:
Sinbad
Rapper Flavor Flav
Boxer Evander Holyfield
Actor-comedian David Alan Grier
Singer Tony Braxton
Gospel singer BeBe Winans
Author Terry McMillan
