Yung Joc Gets Court-Ordered Release From Diddy’s Bad Boy; Signs With Jive

yung jocOh, it’s going down now. After two years of bitter legal wrangling and contract disputes, chart-topping rapper Yung Joc can finally proclaim his musical freedom.

A New York judge unlocked the artistic handcuffs that had bound Joc for years with a court-ordered break from Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment. It’s the label Joc signed a multimillion-dollar deal with when his unforgettable club anthem “It’s Goin’ Down” bulleted up the Billboard pop and rap charts back in 2006.

Joc told rolling out that he is now signed with RCA/Jive and that he plans to drop his new album by the end of the summer.

If Yung Joc sounds like a man who just emerged from captivity, it’s because he really did.

“Man, it feels good as hell, man! The freedom to do my music and put it out again. It‘s a blessing, dog,” he said. “I got out of that other situation and that regime. I just had to continue to grinding, upward bound. I feel good. I’m relieved to put music out and make a difference. It’s a lot off me.”

Joc wasn’t MIA from the game from a personal standpoint, Jasiel Robinson was busy stockpiling hits in his musical armory, knowing the day would come where he could just unload on the public. He’s about ready to bust.

“I’m trying to drop the album soon. I’m really ready, man. I got one or two more pieces I‘m trying to secure. But I’m going to be ready,“ he says, adding: “But I can sign artists anywhere — Jive, J Records — anywhere,” referring to Block Entertainment.

Joc, exhibiting a mixture of relief and anxious energy, is ready to pick up where he left off.

“I’m pushing to get back out there. While I was going through this drama and this ordeal, I had to continue working as a CEO and keep putting out artists, and I did that. We had a chart-topper,“ he says. “At the end of the day, I was still out there. It took two years to get my freedom but I got it.” –terry shropshire
