They say pain makes for great art. If that’s the case, then Kanye West’s new album should be a classic.
After being holed up with the disgraced rapper in his Diamond Head, Hawaii, home, up-and-coming superstar Drake says West’s upcoming album, Good A– Job will be the best record released in the last decade.
Slated for a June release, West is putting the finishing touches on his fifth release with guest rappers Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock, Billboard confirms.
Others have come forward to testify on West’s behalf. “I feel like Kanye’s albums are always groundbreaking and I’m sure he’s gonna do that with his next project,” said Big Sean. “It’s great. It’s hip-hop. I feel like Kanye always does a great job of reinventing himself and I want him to shock the world. People are going to love it.”
“I just try to work with people who[m] I admire or who I think has got it,” Q-Tip adds. “So right now I’m working on Nas’ s–t, about to work with Kanye on his s–t. Just trying to keep up my momentum.”
Drake had been laying down tracks for both his and West’s albums. When asked how they divide time between the two projects, Drake joked, “More like we work on his album until he gets tired.”
The Young Money star offered his inside take. “His album will be the best one out in 10 years,” he said. –terry shropshire
