Like the title suggests, Devin The Dude’s Suite 420 is the ideal soundtrack for a choked out Saturday night. Sticky funk rhythms blend with laidback hip-hop beats and Devin’s relaxed flow to create a syrupy musical storybard full of erotic rendezvous, marijuana and liquor soaked celebrations, and comedic storytelling.
It’s not the kind of music that will appeal to everybody’s taste and maybe it’s not mainstream, but Devin’s vivid storytelling is captivating, if a bit campy and over-the-top. By the time the CD’s done you’ll feel like you were right there beside Devin in his smoke filled suite. –nicholas robinson
