Lyrical rapper Styles P’s debut novel, Invincible, is set to be released next month. The book shares the story of Jake Billings, a record store owner who guns down stickup kids in a botched robbery and faces retaliation from a mysterious enemy. P has garnered much support for the project, which will be published under crime novelist Nikki Turner’s book collection with Random House. Several acclaimed writers have said some powerful statements about Invincible:
“Invincible is a cleverly crafted hip-hop whodunit that engages the reader from start to finish,” shared Shannon Holmes, author of B More Careful. New York Times bestselling author of Thug Lovin’, Wahida Clark said, “Invincible had me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages to see what would happen next.”
While I was expecting to read tales from the streets coming from Styles P, I was surprised to see the many twists and turns he put into the prose. I can see a series coming from this book. —l martin johnson pratt
