50 Cent Starves Himself for a Movie Role

Rapper 50 Cent starves himself for a movie role. Easy. Breathe. Before you go jumping to conclusions, according to his Web site, thisis50.com, he lost 50 pounds to play the role of a promising football player who is stricken with cancer in the movie Things Fall Apart, which is being directed by Mario Van Peebles. It only took the 34-year-old, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, nine weeks to lose the weight. He shares with fans of the site, “I’m starving.”

Jackson was on a liquid diet and has been intensely working out on the treadmill, walking for a grueling three hours a day. The movie was filmed in Michigan earlier this year and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2011.

Now that you’ve gotten over the shock of his new look, the workaholic is scheduled to launch his month-long, 19-date tour, “The Invitation,” in Cleveland this Friday, May 28 and wrap up in Atlantic City on June 25. Do you think it’s safe for the man with the “Magic Stick” to commit to such an intense promotional schedule after resorting to such extreme dieting measures? Fans of entertainers like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, have been disappointed in the past because the artists have had to cancel shows and collapsed during rehearsals because they overdid it and placed too much stress on their bodies. His temporary weight loss certainly isn’t easy on the eyes. yvette caslinalt
