You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me! NFL Rookie Breaks Into a Donut Shop to Steal Maple Bars

You’ve Got to Be Kidding Me! NFL Rookie Breaks Into a Donut Shop to Steal Maple BarsNFL rookie Golden Tate could not resist his insatiable appetite for maple bars. On June 6, the Seattle Seahawks second round draft pick and a friend broke into a shop called the Top Pot at 3 o’clock in the morning. The two men stole a set of keys and dozens of donuts.

Tate, who was likely drunk at the time, went back to the scene of the crime and returned the keys and attempted to blame the break-in on his friend. The police only issued Tate a trespassing warning and he apologized to the store owner and the Seattle Seahawks.

Tate starred at Notre Dame and broke several receiving records during his collegiate football career. But it’s never a good sign when an NFL rookie’s first breakout performance is a criminal break-in. –a.r.
