In addition to the rape charge, the man widely considered the greatest linebacker who ever played, is also being charged with committing a criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute, TMZ reports.
In May, the NFL Hall of Famer was apprehended at a Holiday Inn in suburban New York City because, as prosecutors stated, Taylor paid the teenager $300 to have sex with her. Taylor vehemently denies all the charges, but his credibility has long been destroyed because he has a lengthy criminal history, including being addicted to crack cocaine, since he retired after revolutionizing the linebacker position for the New York Giants.
Sources told TMZ that part of Taylor’s defense will be that he never engaged in sexual congress with the young girl but instead masturbated while she watched.
LT’s agent Mark Lepselter says their legal team “made a strategic decision to not put any of our evidence in front of the grand jury. We look forward to presenting our evidence at the appropriate time,” he told reporters.
