“Word on the street, from a VERY reliable source, is that [the] powers that be have reached out to current embattled pop star Chris Brown to bless the stage and pay homage to his musical idol in conjunction with the anniversary of his passing,” BET blogger Gyant wrote Saturday. “Details surrounding the super secretive surprise are being guarded, so I don’t have much on what exactly Chris will perform, but let’s be honest this opportunity could save both my new networks home in the eyes of the public, and Chris who is currently in the fight of his life [ever] since that debacle [with Rihanna]almost a year and a half ago.”
Brown, whom many music fans say gives better impressions of Michael Jackson than even Usher, Justin Timberlake and Ne Yo, was already scheduled to give a tribute to Jackson at an undisclosed location. These events are part of Brown’s camp’s carefully calculated comeback after the infamous domestic violence situation that caused a bomb to detonate on his career in mid-flight. Brown also appeared on BET during its annual Spring Bling special and S.O.S. (Saving Ourselves Help For Haiti) earlier in the year.
