The fight of the century will not happen in 2010. The highly anticipated boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao has been canceled, again.
Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, set a deadline for Mayweather to respond to a contract that would’ve made it possible for the two dynamic pugilists to fight in November. But Mayweather allowed the deadline to pass and Arum is looking to schedule another fight for Pacquiao.
Mayweather and Pacquiao were first scheduled to fight at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas back in March, but Mayweather canceled after Pacquiao refused to take a blood test that would indicate steroid use.
Mayweather dismantled Shane Mosley in May, and Pacquiao defeated Joshua Clottey in March. A Mayweather and Pacquiao fight could be worth more than $40 million. Is Mayweather afraid to fight Pacquiao, or have Pacquiao’s handlers created a ploy to force Mayweather to agree to their demands? –a.r.
