Ms. Bourgeoisie has done it again. Rashida Ali, owner of Bourgeoisie Shoe Boutique in Harlem, N.Y., recently opened her second flagship store, B-Chic Shoutique in the ritzy Buckhead section of Atlanta. Ali is bringing hot trends with affordable prices to the ATL. Shoe brands include YSL, Jessica Simpson, BCBG and Prada.
“I’m so excited to finally be here and to be open,” she said.
Ali’s spectacular sense of style and fashion is evident in the energy she puts into creating an exemplary shopping experience for her clients.
“At the end of the day, everyone wants to be treated to a certain standard and feel like they’re a VIP customer,” she explained. “It doesn’t matter if they’re spending $75 or $7,500 — it’s still the same principle.”
The shoe connoisseur celebrated the grand opening by partnering with My Sister’s Keeper, a local nonprofit organization that provides coaching and self-help programs for women of color. “We were looking for different foundations that we thought would be a great collaboration for the event,” Ali said, sharing that proceeds from shoe sales at the opening benefitted My Sister’s Keeper.

Ali also received support from Atlanta’s Art on Five Art Gallery. Executive director Andre Thompson did the illustrations for the artwork hanging in the shoe store.
“I’m having a wonderful time because I was able to come on board as the illustrator for the shoes and create this wonderful shoe gallery,” he said.
Model and fashionista Amber Rose also made a cameo appearance at the event.
Ali is certain that her store has something to offer women in Atlanta.
“The women of Atlanta are everywhere,” Ali said. “I think they’re just missing something … B-Chic will provide a happy medium with great merchandise that’s fashion forward, very in tune with the trends, and also affordable.”
Ali, whose store is also known for serving cocktails and hors d’oeuvres during store hours, has provided footwear for Kim Kardashian, Wendy Williams, Celita Ebanks and Alicia Keys.
“The idea is to get the look for less,” Ali said. “When you really know styles and you really know trends, you don’t have to buy the most expensive items. The prices of the shoes in the boutique range from $150 to $350 … We’re speaking to the working woman, the fashionista, and the party girl. … We’ve got high heels and wedges for the summer.”
Ali isn’t stopping at shoe sales. She plans to host more shopping and charity events in the future.
