The search for former NBA player Lorenzen Wright has ended tragically. Wright’s body was discovered in a wooded area in the southeast section of Memphis.
Wright was reported missing by family on July 18 after leaving his ex-wife’s home with a large sum of money. He planned to take his six children back to his home in Atlanta the following day.
A call was made to 911 on the night he left his ex-wife’s home. Nearly 10 shots were heard by the 911 operator and a man yelled an expletive over the phone before the call was cut off.
In 2009, Forbes magazine ranked Memphis as the second most dangerous city in America.
Wright played 13 seasons in the NBA and made $55 million during his career. –amir shaw
