The Facebook and Twitter electronic communities practically roared with outrage, disgust and shock almost from the very second that the Bishop Eddie Long sexual scandal spilled into cyberspace.
Sentiments traversed the entire spectrum of emotions. Some decried agnostics and atheists who exploit this sensational scandal as justification for their lack of faith in God. Many were predictably protective of the pastor of the internationally influential mega church New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, which is based in suburban Atlanta. Others have practically picked out the color of the minister’s casket, which would certainly encase his career if the accusations turn out to be true. Some have opined on the irony of this cultural volcano since Bishop Long’s ministry has included very public anti-gay crusades. I support the Bishop cuz we saw what happened to Michael, people makin’ stuff up … innocent until proven guilty. I feel sick, he’s one of the best pastors I’ve ever met … and I never saw that he had time to be with … people like that. The enemy has tried to destroy him when it comes to finances, it didn’t work… so the enemy moved to something more damaging.

And as far as the lawyer goes …. to me… [it] says she looooves money. She wants high-profile cases with very generous money! That’s their profession. That’s what lawyers do! Chris Coleman this isn’t the first time that Bishop Long has been exposed with this type of thing, I hope it isn’t true, but unlike a lot of people, I wouldnt be surprised if it is, we get so caught up in man, we need to remember even pastors are just men, focus on God!!
