As a star wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kassim Osgood knows how to use his legs to escape a dangerous situation on the football field. However, on Sept . 27, Osgood was forced to flee from a potentially life-threatening ordeal that took place at his 19-year-old girlfriend’s home in Jacksonville, Fla..
According to reports, Julian Bartletto broke into Mackenzie Putnal’s home around 11 p.m. and pistol-whipped her and Osgood. Putnal ran out of the room and Bartletto chased after her. As the intruder chased Putnal, Osgood left his girlfriend and jumped out of the window and ran to a neighbor’s home. Putnal was able to retrieve a gun in her home and fired shots at the intruder, who returned fire before fleeing.
Apparently, Bartletto and Putnal had a previous relationship and Putnal filed a restraining order against Bartletto. Osgood panicked during the attack and likely ran on instincts. But should he have stayed to protect his girlfriend, or was running away and leaving her with the intruder the most intelligent decision? –a.r.
