For the first three weeks of the NFL season, Michael Vick stood alone as the best quarterback in the NFL. His matchup against Donavan McNabb and the Washington Redskins was the week’s most highly anticipated game. But after passing for 49 yards and rushing for 17 yards, Vick was injured after scrambling for 23 yards.
He was sandwiched by Redskins players DeAngelo Hall and Kareem Moore after coming up one-yard short of the end zone.
Vick never returned to the game and was relieved by Kevin Kolb, who looked very uncomfortable as the starting quarterback.
Vick will undergo an MRI on Monday, Oct. 4 to determine if he suffered broken ribs or a fractured collarbone. –a.r.
