Lil Wayne’s last month in Riker’s Island is turning out to be his worst. The diminutive rapper’s love for music has caused him to get in trouble with authorities at the prison. Lil Wayne, serving a one year sentence on gun possession, broke prison rules by having an MP3 player and headphones.
After prison guards confiscated the contraband, Lil Wayne was placed in segregation and will be forced to spend the remainder of his sentence in solitary confinement. He will be isolated for 23 hours a day and can only leave his cell to take showers, see visitors, and for one hour of recreation. Lil Wayne’s visits and phone calls will also be restricted.
Lil Wayne was sentenced to one year in prison, but he will be released in November due to good behavior. –a.r.
