Thomas DeCoud has played a vital role in the success that the Atlanta Falcons defense has experienced during the first half of the NFL season. But when DeCoud isn’t grabbing interceptions and cracking heads on the football field, he finds time to collect sneakers. DeCoud has teamed up with apparel line Akomplice and Wish sneaker boutique to create an exclusive T-shirt that displays a falcon wearing a Wish T-shirt, Akomplice hat and a pair of Air Jordans. DeCoud spoke with rolling out about the collaboration with Akomplice, his love for sneakers, the Falcons Super Bowl hopes and how the Randy Moss trade could affect the NFC. –a.r.
How did you hook up with Akomplice?
Akomplice is one of those clothing lines that I like. I would see their stuff on urban clothing Web sites and I liked their styles and designs. I was able to reach out to them and we were able to work together.
You are a sneaker enthusiast. Rank the top sneakers of all time.
1) The playoff Air Jordan XIII 2) Cali Nike Dunks 3) Air Jordan Space Jam’s XI’s and 4) Air Jordan French Blue XII’s. I like the Air Jordan French Blue XII’s because my high school and college team colors were blue and white.
The Atlanta Falcons are playing great football at this point. What will it take for the team to get to the Super Bowl?
Just staying consistent. Playing good football week in and week out. It’s a long season and it’s marathon not a sprint. We can’t make any weaknesses we may have become obvious. We have to turn our weaknesses into our strengths.
Randy Moss has just been traded to the Minnesota Vikings. What does that mean for the NFC?
I’m not too sure. It could mean a number of different things. Depending on how things work out back in Minnesota. … Once he gets up there and plays a couple of games, we will see how that’s going to affect everything.
Thomas DeCoud will sign autographs and release his exclusive T-shirt at Wish clothing boutique today at 7 p.m. For more info, visit www.akomplice-clothing.com.
