Steve Harvey got it all twisted when he irresponsibly told women to Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, so says a former NFL wife who has written her own uncensored book on relationships.
Shanae Hall, who used to be married to former Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens player Cory Hall, says she has penned a book that tells what men really want and what women want in return from a woman’s perspective Why Do I have to Think Like A Man? How to Think Like a Lady and Still Get The Man.
Hall’s book, set to hit book stores in November, was compiled after conducting more than 300 interviews with men and women over 25. She also based the book on her own dating drama over the years and includes the turbulent marriage to Cory Hall. It reveals a unique perspective on deal breakers, commitment, baggage, etc. — from Hall and her mother, Rhonda Frost.
“We hope to empower all the women out there selling themselves short, hearing but not listening to the men they date, seeing but not heeding the obvious warning signs,” Frost says. “Getting the guy isn’t about knowing how they think. It’s about dating smart, knowing what you want, and raising your standards.”
Hall insinuated that the book is also a counter to Harvey’s follow-up to his New York Times No. 1 best-seller, which will be called Straight Talk, No Chaser.
Hall’s book is also therapeutic for her and her mother. Both are survivors of emotional and physical abuse. Hall and Frost are donating a portion of book sales to battered women shelters and other agencies that help women, she says. –terry shropshire
