As the judge lowered the boom on superstar T.I.’s immediate future, he released an apology song, “Get Back Up,” with equal outcast Chris Brown for all of his fans to digest. With the exception of the his upcoming album, it will be all they can chew on for the next 11 months.
Wife and former Xscape star Tiny tweeted thanks for all the love shown by her fans after U.S. District Judge Charles Parnell revoked Tip’s probation, forcing the multitalented hip-hop mogul to serve just under a year in prison.
“Thx 4day love guys! My man is very strong & 2gether wit God we can get thru this2! Thx 2my lil sis @MonicaMyLife & @kieshababi 4coming 4my support$,” Tiny tweeted.
Tip, on the other hand, said he’s exhausted and has used all of his legal options to avoid yet another incarceration.
“I screwed up. I screwed up big time and I am sorry,” Harris said, articulating the vast understatement to the judge, and really, to all who love and look up to him. “I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.”
The judge was unmoved by Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.’s show of contrition — and apparently did not factor in that T.I. had saved a suicidal man from sure death just days before. Many of Tip’s fans also expressed considerable disappointment with the multiplatinum artist, which is why he released the song “Get Back Up” — the title alone is something that collaborator Chris Brown can certainly empathize with.
