Another day, and another “Beyoncé is pregnant” rumor is making it rounds on the Internet. This time, US Weekly is claiming to have the inside track on the one story that just won’t seem to go away. Here’s the report from US Weekly:
Beyoncé Knowles better brush up on her lullabies.
The 29-year-old singer is pregnant with her first child, the new US Weekly reports.
Despite the happy news, no one was more surprised than the singer herself.
“B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet,” says a source of the singer, who married rapper Jay-Z in 2008. “She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”
Still, another insider says that the singer, who is in her first trimester, realizes that “this is a gift from God and she’s so happy.”
Friends of the couple are already expressing their well-wishes for the parents-to-be.
“Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he’s always going to be,” record executive
Kevin Liles, who has known the rapper for years, tells US. “I wish them the best.”
Knowles’ sister Solange — and mom to Julez, 6 — agrees.
“She’s got the most beautiful heart,” she tells US of her big sis. “She’ll be a great mom.”
There has been no official word from the camps of Knowles or Jay-Z, so until we do hear an official word, here are compellng arguments both for and against the pregnancy rumor.
Why She’s Not Pregnant
Let’s face it. The world wants Beyoncé to be pregnant more than she does. That’s why this rumor has been floating around for the past three years. Each time, it gains a little steam only to be proven wrong. One thing that we do know about Bey is that she’s the hardest working woman in show business. With a new album and tour on the horizon, it’s just hard to see her putting that on pause spontaneously.
Why She Is Pregnant
The old adage “monkey see, monkey do” still applies … especially in Hollywood. With gal pal, and lightweight competitor Alicia Keys basking in the glow of marriage and motherhood, it wouldn’t be a stretch to see Knowles desiring the same. Besides; it’s no secret that Jay-Z really wants kids while he’s still physically able to enjoy them. And while he’s a lot of positive adjectives (driven, talented, successful), young is not one of them. He may be putting some serious pressure on his bride to pop out some kids.
Much like their marriage when the official word came from her sister, Solange, we will patiently wait to see how the elder Knowles addresses the rumors. –djr
