Floyd Mayweather Jr. is paying a heavy price for getting into an altercation with the mother of his children. On Sept. 9, Mayweather and his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, got into an argument. Harris claimed that Mayweather struck her, threatened to hit their kids and took her mobile phone.
Mayweather was eventually arrested and charged with grand larceny, robbery and felony coercion. He is also facing misdemeanor domestic battery and harassment charges.
If Mayweather is convicted, he faces up to 34 years in prison.
On Nov. 9, Mayweather was ordered by a Judge Diana Sullivan to stay away from his sons and Harris.
Although the incident appears to be a domestic spat that got out of hand, Mayweather’s illustrious boxing career is in jeopardy if Harris’ story holds up in court. If Mayweather finds a way to beat his criminal charges, he could potentially earn $50 million in one night by fighting Manny Pacquaio. –a.r.
