Food Network's Patrick and Gina Neely Help Kraft Foods Fight Hunger

Celebrity chefs Patrick and Gina Neely of the Food Network’s, “Down Home With the Neelys” television show are serving as brand ambassadors for Kraft Foods’ largest initiative ever to fight hunger in America.

Huddle to Fight Hunger is working to meet its objective to give 20 million meals to Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief organization. Hunger is becoming an increasingly serious issue in the United States, and with the holidays upon us there is no better time to give to those in need. The Neelys, who own four restaurants, host two television shows, and have authored several cookbooks, know better than most the importance of having a good meal every day.

Gina and I have signed on as brand ambassadors for Kraft Foods Huddle to Fight Hunger to help win the fight against hunger,” says Patrick. “This campaign will help donate millions of meals to Feeding America’s local food banks and we want everyone to join the team.”

Kraft Foods also presented the Huddle to Fight tailgate tent at the Southern Heritage Classic, and Morehouse College’s and Howard University’s homecoming games. They also created a Huddle to Fight Hunger text promotion specifically for the fans at these games to join the hudddle. By texting HBCU and your zip code to 71717, Kraft Foods will donate a meal to your local food bank. The Neelys have also developed several Neely’s Orginal Tailgating Recipes including a Memphis BBQ Burger and “Barbe-Cuban” Pressed Ham Sandwich. Those recipes and more can be found on the campaign’s website at www.huddletofighthunger.com/.

It saddens me that 49.1 million Americans don’t know where their next meal will come from,” says Gina. “Together with Kraft Foods and Feeding America, we can help millions of our neighbors in need and beat hunger.”

If you want to know what you can do personally to help, it’s easy. Kraft Foods will donate a meal to Feeding America when you sign up online, click the Kraft Foods Facebook button, tweet about the huddle on Twitter or watch a video on our YouTube page. –christa e. jackson
