Nicki Minaj Smacked on the Butt by Regis; Why Other Female Artists Wouldn't Face Disrepectful Behavior

Nicki Minaj recently made an appearance on “Live with Regis & Kelly” to promote her new album, Pink Friday. But after performing her hit single, “You See Right Thru Me,” Regis Philbin and his cohort Kelly Ripa made it uncomfortable for the new hip-hop star.

After stealing several obvious glances at Minaj’s butt, Philbin touched her butt and said, “It looks like you have a little strap around you.” Minaj smiled nervously and stepped away from Philbin. Moments later, Philbin asked her, “What advice does Lil Wayne give you?” Minaj responded by saying, “Wayne tells me to go hard.”

Making a reference to his genitals, Philbin said, “Go hard? Wish I could.”

Ripa interjected and shouted “Regis!”

But while Ripa appeared to side with Minaj by playfully warning Philbin to calm down, she also asked an awkward question, “How big is your waist?” Apparently, what Ripa really wanted to ask Minaj was, “How big is your butt?”

Although Regis and Kelly have a history of engagin in risqué banter with their guests, it’s highly unlikely that the two would have disrespected a white female artist by touching her breasts and making snide sexual remarks if the guest had not provoked them to act in that manner. –a.r.
