Raheem DeVaughn and Keri Hilson have both made bold statements by releasing videos online that will never appear on BET, MTV or VH-1. On Nov. 28, Hilson released the provocative, “The Way You Love.”
Dressed in a black bikini and high heels, Hilson gyrates in the video while singing, “Touch me, touch me, it’s the way you touch me. F— me, f— me, it’s the way you f— me… Yeah, that’s me, just where we wanna be, I got that kinda p—- that’ll keep you off the streets.”
However, most fans reacted unfavorably to the video on Twitter.

Singer @KarinPasin tweeted, “Its a shame watt girls in this industry feel they have to 2 do for attention. And no, this is not subliminal, I’m talking about Keri Hilson.”
Hilson became infuriated with Pasin and responded by tweeting, “Girl don’t do me cause I ain’t to be did. At least I can afford to make a video. U should thank me because today you’ve gotten more attention than ever before in your entire career. I can’t believe that ugly lil girl tried miss keri like that. I snatch hoes up quick.”
Two days after Hilson’s video created a stir, DeVaughn also released a video that is inappropriate for any person under 17 to view. Titled “She’s Single,” the dimly lit video features partial nudity and a silhouette of DeVaughn and a woman engaging in foreplay, oral sex and several erotic sexual positions. The video was eventually banned from YouTube.
But while Hilson was mostly vilified for her video, DeVaughn received overwhelming support for “She’s Single.”

Sexism and an uneven playing field for women may be the underlying reasons Hilson has been condemned for her video while DeVaughn is being commended. Or, DeVaugn’s video director, 6ix Shoota & Cool Kids Forever Films, did a better job of presenting a sexually provocative moment that adult viewers could relate to more. –a.r.
