Four men have been arrested in the drive-by shooting death of onetime Lauryn Hill and Bobby Brown bassist, Dewey Tucker, 24. The four men, Raul Vega, Hector Barragan, Christopher Mancinas and Javier Carreon-Lopez, were charged with murder by the Sonoma County Superior Court on Wednesday, Jan. 12, the anniversary of Tucker’s death.
The defendants were also charged with conspiracy to commit murder, the use of a firearm resulting in death and gang-related enhancements, all of which the four men pleaded not guilty to.
A year ago Tucker’s body was found in his car on Interstate 80 near Hercules, Calif. Prosecutors in the case say the four men mistook Tucker, who was from Vallejo, Calif., for a rival gang member.
For Vega, whom authorities believe to be the shooter, the charges continue to stack up as he was also charged with and pleaded not guilty to the separate fatal stabbing of Juan Carlos Angel-Esparza, 20, that occurred on Saturday, Jan. 8 at Kawana Elementary School in Santa Rosa, Calif. –nicholas robinson
