It came as a surprise when it was revealed earlier this year that 50 Cent was no longer on good terms with his label boss, Dr. Dre. Now, in the new issue of Vibe, 50 Cent is opening up about his rift with Dr. Dre and explaining his side of the story.
While many thought that 50 Cent was biting the hand that fed him when he discussed his beef with Dr. Dre on Twitter, the rapper explains that it was simply his way of reaching out to the Aftermath mogul in an effort to mend fences.
“I have a strong personality, a strong character. And I can be difficult to deal with at certain points because I’m vocal,” said 50 Cent. “If you upset Em, he’s just gonna not talk to you. You’re not going to get him in the next room you wanna get him in. With Dre, the same. He’s not comfortable with friction. That [tweet] is, ‘Hey look, I’m here. Is everybody still paying attention?’ So they go, ‘Why [did] he say that? Why [did] he say we[‘re] mad?’ Then the meeting happens.”
The rift between 50 Cent and Dr. Dre began after 50 Cent launched his own high-end line of headphones, Sleek, which were in direct competition with Dr.Dre’s popular line, Beats by Dre.
Whether or not 50 Cent has reconciled with Dr. Dre is still unknown but we’re sure that whatever happens between the two, 50 Cent is going to tweet about it later.
