NEWNAN, Ga. — Whether you appreciate Tyler Perry’s cinematic endeavors or not, you have to love his heart. The urban movie titan recently rebuilt and fully furnished the home of an 88-year-old woman fire victim. He was delivering on a Christmas promise.
Perry hand-delivered the keys of a new four-bedroom house to Rosa Lee Ransbury, a resident of Georgia’s rural Coweta County, in a ceremony that included 20 of her family members. Ransby shared the home she lost just before Christmas with her seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
According to the ajc.com, Perry says he wanted to do something for the family after seeing the story on a local television newscast. He learned that the family had no way to rebuild and vowed to extend his hand, wanting Ransby to end up with enough space for the children and for them to have room to play.
Perry’s new movie, Madea’s Big Happy Family, will be released later this month.
