Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman narrates the documentary adventure “Born to be Wild (3-D),” an inspired story of love, dedication and the remarkable bond between humans and animals.

The movie features Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas, OC, president of the Orangutan Foundation International and considered one of the most prominent researchers on primates, along with Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey. Also featured is Dr. Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick, DBE, of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Dr. Sheldrick is the widow of David Sheldrick, internationally renowned conservationist and one of the world’s leading authorities on African wildlife. After Sheldrick’s death in 1977, Dame Daphne was given permission by the government to continue her work with orphaned wild animals.

Freeman had no special interest in wildlife, but, after receiving the call and seeing the movie, he appreciated the work and sacrifices that the women in the story did to save the species.

“This project highlights the courage and dedication of two women that should be trumpeted,” he said.  “Born to be Wild (3D) brings us into the lives of creatures that deserve a better chance. We must think about them and their struggles to make it in the changing world. As humans, we have to be aware of the impacts of our actions. We have to share this planet.”

Freeman added, “They have well-run organizations set up to do this, and the totality of the investments they’ve made grabbed me. When out of a million people, someone steps up and says, ‘I’ll take responsibility. I’ll do this,’ it shows an enormous amount of courage and a real dedication to life. And any life is all life on this planet.”

Directed by Davis Lickley (“Jane Goodall’s Wild Chimpanzees”) and written and produced by Drew Fellman, this heartwarming film  documents orphaned orangutans and elephants and the extraordinary people who are saving the endangered species — one life at a time.

Morgan Freeman Narrates 3-D Documentary, 'Born to Be Wild'The film is so lifelike in 3D form and has you in the position of actually being a part of the daily activities that the individuals in the film faced on a daily basis. Watching the orangutans and elephants on screen being cared for was so realistic that I caught myself  reaching toward the screen a couple of times to touch the animals. This film helps you to understand the similarities between human life and animal life and will inspire you to appreciate them. This film is awesome, and I commend the entire behind-the-scene team who made it such a valuable, wonderful experience. –ramona canakie
