Many a celebrity has earned staggering amounts of money for performing at lavish events for the children of the world’s wealthiest parents, but apparently even those parents have their limits. And that was made clear when Young Money’s crown prince, Drake, earned a cool $250,000 for a performance at a high-profile bar mitzvah after Kanye West’s performance price was deemed too high for the organizers.
According to popeater.com, Drake was asked by former NBC executive Jeff Zucker to perform at his son, Andrew’s, bar mitzvah on Saturday, May 7 in exchange for the hefty sum of a quarter million.
Zucker originally wanted West to perform at the lavish bash but organizers for the event considered West’s $1 million performance price to be ludicrous. Zucker briefly considered offering the Chicago rapper $800,000 before deciding to go with the more reasonably priced Drake.
The upscale event was held at the Four Seasons restaurant in Midtown Manhattan and boasted a relatively small but impressive guest list of Andrew’s closest friends as well as news anchor Katie Couric.
According to nypost.com, attendees were treated to customized Converse sneakers, a photo booth, an iPad station, a bracelet-making lounge and a customized phone-cover station.
