A few weeks ago, it was reported that Mariah Carey was under investigation by child protective services after it was alleged that Carey was caught drinking alcohol in her hospital room after giving birth to her newborn twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott Cannon. Now the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services has determined the children are in a healthy and safe environment with Carey and husband, Nick Cannon.
According to tmz.com, the trouble began when an anonymous tip was made to DCFS informing them that Carey drank a beer while breast-feeding the twins. Carey admitted to social workers that she had, in fact, drank a bottle of Guinness but only after being advised by a hospital staffer that drinking dark beer would improve her lactation.
“It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breast-feeding,” said Cannon during a CNN interview with Piers Morgan a few weeks ago. “I don’t know if someone heard that [and] were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story.”
Yesterday, The DCFS conducted an interview with Carey, for which her lawyer Laura Wasser was present. Following the interview, the agency concluded that Carey had done nothing wrong and that there was no merit to the complaint.
