Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’ Delayed Until August

Lil Wayne’s forthcoming album, Tha Carter IV, has been delayed several times. And although it was last announced that the album was set to be released on June 21, sources now say that Tha Carter IV has been pushed back to Aug. 29.

According to Billboard’s The Juice, At the beginning of the year, Wayne originally anticipated a spring release for the highly-anticipated album. Then in March, Wayne announced that Tha Carter IV had been pushed back to May 16. At that time, Wayne had already released three singles from the album, the Bangladesh-produced hit, “6 Foot 7 Foot,” “John” and his latest single, “How To Love,” which was released to the Web last Thursday.

The cause for the continual delays is still unknown but fans will get a preview of the album when MTV airs Lil Wayne’s “Unplugged” episode on June 12.

Tha Carter IV will be Wayne’s first album since releasing his No. 1 rock/rap fusion LP, I Am Not A Human Being last November. Tha Carter IV also marks Wayne’s return to his wildly popular rap album saga, Tha Carter series. The last installment, Tha Carter III,  debuted atop the U.S. Billboard 200 in 2008 with sales of 1,005,545 copies, catapulting Wayne to mainstream success.
