T-Pain Vows to Stop Using Auto-Tune

Without a doubt, producer-singer T-Pain is the man who single-handedly ushered in the second coming of Auto-Tune technology in music, giving hope to even the most vocally challenged amateur or veteran artists that they, too, could croon with the best of them. But now, T-Pain is vowing that he will never use Auto-Tune again.

In an statement issued to AllHipHop June 2, the “Buy U a Drank” singer said that he plans to ditch Auto-Tune and focus on a new vocal processor of his own.

“I vow right here, right now, to never use Auto-Tune again,” said T-Pain. “I’m on to something that I think is bigger and better called “The T-Pain Effect.”

For his new creation, T-Pain has teamed with the audio technology company Izotope, which will become the exclusive provider of “The T-Pain Effect.”

In September 2009, T-Pain inked a similar deal with Antares Audio Technologies, the creator of Auto-Tune, and created the “I Am T-Pain” iPhone App, which allowed users to Auto-Tune their voices on their smart phones.

T-Pain and Izotope will premiere “The T-Pain Effect” on June 7, during the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo at the NOX booth.
