Scion tC: the Perfect Vehicle for Gen Yers

Scion tC: the Perfect Vehicle for Gen Yers
2011 Scion tC

The engineers of the newly redesigned 2011 Scion tC knew exactly who their target market was when making this automobile. With a sleeker looking exterior, emphasis on a superior, technologically advanced audio device inside, and outstanding fuel economy, there is no mistaking that members of Generation Y will love this car.

This two-door hatchback has a hot look, ample legroom and is set to capture the hearts of the young car buyer.

The 2011 Scion tC embraces the new angular look with a vengeance. The front air dam wraps around and connects seamlessly to the front fenders, while the rear spoiler and angular sweeping taillights give the appearance of a luxury sports car, rather than a compact sports coupe. Equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, it looks like it comes factory ready to go straight to the track. Another feature that gives the 2011 tC that wow factor is the side mirror integrated turn signals. Not as noticeable during the day, but at night it’s the perfect attention-getting highlight.

The interior of the 2011 Scion tC is simple but efficient. As you enter the cockpit it is obvious that the engineers did not want young drivers distracted by reaching for anything. All of the necessary equipment is easily accessible while driving. The hatchback gives you more than ample room, and whether your headed to baseball practice or band practice there is adequate room for additional equipment, if needed. However, if there is no equipment that needs hauling, the rear seat reclines to give passengers in the rear more leg room the other vehicles in its class. The interior feature that I’m sure is at the top of the list of priorities for the Scion tC’s Gen Y owner is the eight speaker Alpine sound system. It is fully loaded with CD player, Navigation ready and while staying relevant with the younger generation this audio system has an iPod compatible design.

The Scion tC is powered by a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. It comes with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, and this slingshot goes from 0 to 60 in eight seconds. The great thing about this new engine upgrade from last year is it gives the 2011 tC 19 more horsepower along with better fuel economy. EPA estimates are 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

Any current high school or college student would love this car. Even some college grads might enjoy it. Parents, check it out if you are in the market for a new car for your Gen Yer. With a base sticker price of $19,000, it’s a good deal.
