Labelle’s Sarah Dash Records Tearjerking Duet With Maxima's Recording Artist Chris Gardner

Now that the Labelle reunion tour is over, Sarah Dash of Labelle, whom Patti LaBelle refers to as “the woman with the silver throat” ventures to Houston to duet with pop-country singer Chris Gardner.  It’s a startling departure for the once-sexy member of the femme fatales.

Chris Gardner, whom Texas Music News called one of the bright spots of country and pop-rock and an innovative and solid songwriter, recorded a tear-jerking single titled “Belong,” featuring Dash.

“When I penned ‘Belong,’ I penned it as a duet. I heard Sarah Dash’s voice on Keith Richards’ X-Pensive Winos project as well as her voice on Labelle’s ‘Lady Marmalade’ and knew that is the voice I want on this duet.”

Labelle’s Sarah Dash Records Tearjerking Duet With Maxima's Recording Artist Chris GardnerChris Gardner (“C-Gar”) is a native of Buffalo, N.Y., and currently resides in Houston. Gardner has been performing his original music around Texas and New York for the last 20 years. His music deals with the human experience, loves gained, loves lost and the triumphs, as well as the tragedies, of day-to-day life.

A founding member of the popular 1960s female soul group Patti LaBelle & the Blue Belles, Sarah Dash continued to pursue a variety of outlets for her creative talents. In addition to recording four impressive solo albums, Dash has sung on albums by the Marshall Tucker Band, Laura Nyro and the Rolling Stones. In addition to recording with Keith Richards’ X-Pensive Winos, she twice toured the United States with the all-star band. Dash has recorded duets with Richards, Doctor York, Patti LaBelle, Ray, Goodman & Brown and, now, Chris Gardner.

This duet by Gardner and Dash is a song that will pull at your heartstrings. Take out your Kleenex before you give this single a listen.
