The 22nd annual “Real Men Cook” was held on Father’s Day and, boy, did hundreds turn out for it! It was a scorcher outside in Atlanta, but people filled the Atlantic Civic Center to taste, socialize and be entertained. It was held in a smaller venue, so I was unable to sample different cooks’ dishes because it was so packed. However, I did get to try Chef Keith Kash’s creations and TV producer Roger Bobb’s lemon-peppered wings. Actually, Bobb’s wings won. They were very tasty! There was massage stations, contests, face-painting, grilling and more going on. Comedian Don “DC” Curry was in the house, along with Congressmen John Lewis, Councilman Kwanza Hall and Season 5 “American Idol” contestant Paris Bennett and so many other notables.
