The top black entertainers, music moguls and musicians were on hand at the Book Bindery in Culver City, Ca., for the 2011 Pre-BET Awards Dinner. Presented by BET Networks chairman and CEO Debra Lee, individuals who walked the special yellow carpet included Kevin Hart, Miguel, Trey Songz, Keri Hilson, Nicole and Boris Kodjoe , Ledisi and Carmelo Anthony and wife La La Vazquez.
Comedian Anthony Anderson hosted the event, and Erykah Badu spun on the one’s and two’s.
“I have watched the network grow for the past 26 years,” Lee said during a brief interview on the yellow carpet. “It’s getting bigger every year. We are continuing to do scripted shows. It’s important for us to show support for the artists and actors in our community. My favorite moment from the BET Awards was when Michael Jackson came out and paid tribute to James Brown.” –amir shaw
