Police in San Francisco Kill a Teen for Not Paying Bus Fare

Police in San Francisco Kill a Teen for Not Paying Bus FareUnjust police killings continue to be a national problem. On July 16, San Francisco police killed a 19-year-old after a fare inspection got out of hand. According to reports, two police officers were checking passengers for bus fare on a Muni light rail vehicle. The 19-year-old, whose name has yet to be released, was detained and eventually fled because he didn’t have the $2 fare.

Police officers claim that the 19-year-old was armed and fired shots at them. However, witnesses have a different story. Those at the scene say the teen was unarmed. Police have said that a witness may have taken the weapon or that the victim threw it away before he was shot. But after hours of searching, the police have yet to find a weapon. The police officers are currently on paid leave and the shooting will be investigated.

Similar incidents are happening at an alarming rate.  On July 10, former NFL player Deacon Turner was murdered by Bakersfield, Calif., police in front of his son.

Police officers across America are waging war on blacks and minorities. And the war will continue until federal sanctions are put in place to punish police officers who shoot and kill unarmed people. –amir shaw
