R. Kelly’s spokesman, Allan Mayer, said that the 44-year-old singer left Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 21, and is now recuperating at his Windy City home.
However, Mayer said that it’s still unclear as to when Kelly will be well enough to begin performing again.
Kelly’s medical problems begin earlier this week when he complained of severe throat pain, prompting the singer to visit a throat specialist. Following an examination, Kelly was rushed to the hospital where doctors drained an abscess on one of his tonsils, leaving the Grammy-winning singer “laid up indefinitely,” according to a statement from his spokesman.
Kelly, who released the critically acclaimed retro-soul album, Love Letter, last year, recently wrapped the U.S. leg of his worldwide tour with Keyshia Cole and Marshia Ambrosius.
Hopefully, Kelly will have a speedy recovery. –nicholas robinson
