Tony Allen, guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, visited the rolling out office in Chicago recently to talk about his new camp, Grit and Grind Basketball Skills Academy at the Major Adams Community Committee Center in the West Haven Community located at 125 N. Hoyne Ave. The one-week camp was free with complimentary lunch for 100 children from Aug. 1 to 5 for boys and girls ages 7 to 17. Attendees learned basketball skills with camp director, Keith “Shot Doc” Veney. Education and leadership workshops were also led by local community business- people and rolling out also participated.
During the interview, Allen paused to deliver a special video message to today’s youth.
