Nicki Minaj, Rihanna Premiere ‘Fly’ Video During VMAs

Hip-hop diva Nicki Minaj made a splash at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, winning the Best Hip-Hop Video Moonman for “Super Bass.” But before the Young Money queen reveled in her big win, she premiered her next eye-popping video for “Fly,” featuring pop star Rihanna.

After making her way across the VMA black carpet in a show-stopping outfit; a metallic purple and pink skirt, an ice cream cone necklace, a pop-art surgical mask, multicolored wig and toting a large stuffed animal, Minaj premiered the Rihanna-assisted video to fans.

In the four-minute clip, Minaj steps out of an expensive luxury car and wanders aimlessly through the dark wreckage of a plane crash, eventually joining up with her fellow “fly” survivor, Rihanna.

Forever a chameleon, Minaj dons a slew of out-of-this-world outfits, including a wreckage inspired pink skirt and black Frankenstein wig, a regal pink gown and soft short wig, a funky colored wide skirt with leopard-print wig and finally a white bodysuit and zebra-print Mohawk, as she fights off a gang of ninjas.

Rihanna, joins in on the fun as well, switching between a black fringed dress and a sleek, structured white dress as she saunters through the smoke and rubble.
