The Taliah Waajid World Natural Hair Show always brings new products, techniques, and information to natural clients, stylists, and salons. At this fall’s hair show there were a few trending topics that were consistent throughout many of the booths: two strand twists, natural shea butters and soaps, and curl defining creams.
Held at the Georgia International Convention center, the Natural Hair Show brought a receptive crowd. One of the main highlights this year was the chance for attendees to win two round trip tickets to Jamaica. Attendees also explored aisles with vendors like Taliah Waajid Black Earth Products, Jane Carter Solution, Design Essentials, Henna Sooq, Huetiful, Organic Root Stimulator and Shea Moisture just to name a few.
Workshops were offered to perfect skills and to learn new techniques like loc styling, silky flat twists, and curly twists. For those looking to expand their business, free workshops were also available on owning your own salon, building wealth beyond the chair, and the ten keys to the perfect haircut.
A wellness pavilion was featured to promote a healthy way of living by showcasing products and services to thousands of individuals wanting a clean and healthy lifestyle. Exhibitors specialized in natural and organic products and foods, massage therapy, skin care, and offered free health screenings courtesy of health care service providers.
After attendees loaded up on samples and new products, The next stop was Da Poet’s Corner, hosted by Abyss. There they enjoyed an open mic, a poet’s competition, and surprise artists appearances. Both Saturday and Sunday’s events closed with the Best Natural Hair Stylist Competition and the Fall Fashion Show.
