Black voice actors behind famous children's charactersMost widely recognized for her role as Winifred “Winnie” Brooks on “The Cosby Show” spin-off “A Different World,” Cree Summer has built a long and successful career off camera as the voice of several popular cartoon characters.

Cree is the voice of Susie Carmichael in Rugrats, Penny in Inspector Gadget, and Cleo the Poodle in Clifford the Big Red Dog.


Summer’s voice acting resume is incredibly long and impressive. She has provided the voice for characters in too many films and television shows to list here, but here are several you will recognize:
