Hip-hop legend Heavy D died on Nov. 8 after experiencing difficulty breathing while walking into his condominium in Beverly Hills, Calif.
According to reports, Heavy D was being assisted by personnel in his condominium when he collapsed in a hallway.
Heavy D remained conscious while being transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. However, he later died while being treated in the hospital.
Heavy D was a hip-hop pioneer who released a string of hits during the late ’80s and early ’90s. He also produced tracks for Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel, and appeared in several films and movies. His last prominent performance occurred at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards and he appeared in the new film, Tower Heist.
