Drake's 'Take Care' on Track to Dominate Billboard Charts: 5 Other Big Hip-Hop Debuts

Mac Miller – Blue Slide Park

Indie rapper Mac Miller did the impossible this week, when his hip-hop debut, BlueSlidePark, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with sales of 144,000 copies. Though the numbers didn’t match the 180,000 unit expectations, BlueSlidePark is the first independently distributed debut album by an act to hit No. 1 since 1995. The feat was only previously achieved by Tha Dogg Pound’s Dogg Food album.
