Indie Music Scene. I know from personal experience that women love hitting up the indie music scene or going to check out great singers who have, for some reason, not yet gotten mainstream love, like say, Nina Simone (left). If you live in a medium or large city, there are probably plenty of acts that put on free shows, or charge around a $10 cover. Moreover, many cities such as Atlanta, Cincinnati, Miami, New York and D.C. also host free jazz concerts during the spring and summer.
Best of all, these outings present a relaxed, non-pretentious ambiance where you and that special someone can chill after work and enjoy one another. It’s also a great first date idea where you can survive the occasion lull in the conversation without the atmosphere becoming stale or awkward.
