Paris Jackson's Debut TV Interview, What She Had to Say: 6 Other Celebrity Kids on the Rise

Since the death her superstar father, Michael Jackson, in 2009, Paris Jackson has slowly made her way into the limelight. During her first TV interview on “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” Paris talked about her father’s influence as well as her desire to become an actress.

During the interview, Paris discussed her time at private school, something she says she loves thanks to her much-appreciated “normalcy” at school.

“I’m treated the same. When I came [to the school], they didn’t know who I was. I was like, yes, I have a chance to be normal,” said the 13-year-old.

Paris also admitted that perhaps people didn’t know who she was because of her late father’s penchant for making her and her siblings, Prince, 14, and Blanket, 9, wear masks in public, something she says used to think was weird.

“Yeah, I’m like, ‘This is stupid, why am I wearing a mask?’ But, I, kind of realized the older I got, like he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us too,” she said.

While discussing the King of Pop, Paris also shared that her father inspired her current passion: acting.

“I love acting. It’s my passion,” said Paris, who will make her acting debut in the upcoming film, Lundun’s Bridge and the Three Keys.

“My dad was in the movie Moonwalker, and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him,’ ” said Paris, adding that she and her father would regularly do improv together. “He would give us little scenarios. He would go, ‘OK, in this scene you’re going to cry,’ and I’d cry on the spot.”
