Rick Perry was, like Michele Bachmann, a political juggernaut who was, initially, captivating and whose stanch conservatism, tough Texas talk and rugged photogenic persona made for great television. And, like Bachmann, Perry ran roughshod over common sense, assaulted the English language multiple times and came off as almost goofy during some of the GOP debates that pretty much wiped any chance of unseating Barack Obama.
