NBA Lockout and ‘Trade Gate’
David Stern discovered that the NBA does not have die-hard fans similar to the NFL. The NBA took a major public relations hit during the lockout, which ended the first week of December. However, matters were made worse after Stern vetoed a proposed trade that would have sent Chris Paul to the L.A. Lakers. Paul eventually ended up with L.A. Clippers, but Stern’s mishandling of the lockout and “Trade Gate” proved that it is time for him to step down as NBA commissioner.
